Knut desires that dismissed teachers receive their benefits. The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) requests the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to annul a regulation that forbids interdicted and dismissed teachers from obtaining their benefits. Knut Secretary-General Collins Oyuu states that the union will advocate for TSC to rescind the regulation to guarantee that dismissed teachers are paid what they are owed. The union additionally seeks for teachers to receive greater benefits for their services. Mr. Oyuu asserted that employees' retirement benefits should not depend on their conduct. Knec announces invigilators, supervisors and centre managers for KCSE, KJSEA Exams

The Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec) has unveiled the number of teachers who will work as invigilators, supervisors and centre managers in this years national exams and assessments. In a statement Knec says this years KCSE exams will have 10,765 centre managers, 12,126 supervisors and 54,782 invigilators. The exams which start on 21st October will be manned by a total of 22,247 security officers and 2,692 drivers will be used to transport it to and from the exam centres. The Council released the data today as teachers are set to attend Knec briefings early next week. Knec further listed a total of 24,213 centre managers incharge of centres that will have both KPSEA and KJSEA.
