KUCCPS Issues Urgent Call for Applications as Deadline Approaches

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced a seven-day application period for KCSE candidates looking to apply for degree or TVET courses. The deadline for submitting applications is April 30, 2025.

KUCCPS has encouraged students to submit their applications promptly before time expires. The portal will be deactivated once the deadline elapses, leaving those who postpone without an opportunity to apply.

Candidates who completed the 2024 KCSE exams are eligible to apply for degree programs. However, students who took their exams from 2000 to 2024 can apply for TVET programs, which include diplomas, certificates, and artisanal courses.

Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) are also included in the application process. However, these are available only for candidates who took their exams from 2000 to 2024 and are pursuing teaching courses at specific colleges.

KUCCPS has pointed out that degree programs are limited to those who attained a C+ grade or higher in their KCSE exams. This is an important detail for students applying for degree courses.

The placement service has voiced concerns about the low application numbers. As of April 17, more than 100,000 students who qualified for university admission had not yet submitted their applications.

John Oluoch, the KUCCPS Director for Placement and Career Development, urged students to take swift action to avoid missing out. He mentioned that more than half of eligible candidates had not submitted their applications yet.

The notice acts as a reminder for students to apply without hesitation, particularly since the portal will be closing shortly. KUCCPS stressed that students should not procrastinate until the last moment to avoid technical difficulties when accessing the portal.

The agency’s appeal for timely applications follows observations that many students tend to wait until the last moment to submit their forms, which could lead to unwarranted stress.

With the deadline approaching rapidly, KUCCPS is urging candidates to finalize their applications as swiftly as possible to secure their positions in the desired programs. The application process will shut down at midnight on April 30, 2025.
