Trouble is brewing at the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) after issues were raised on the legitimacy of the National officials.
The top leadership is once again on the spot after a teacher moved to court seeking to remove officials from ofice for allegedly using forged documents in their elections in 2021.
Ms Jenifer Kipkorir, a primary school teacher, now wants the High Court to nullify the oicials’ stay in oice claiming that they fraudulently used her documents in 2021 without her knowledge and consent to acquire a court consent that enabled them to hold the polls.

She claims that the petition seeking the consent was fraudulently filed by some Kuppet national officials using her Teachers Service Commission (TSC) details without her consent.
She says that at the time, she was a primary school teacher, and therefore not qualiied to be a Kuppet member as well as participating in their activities.
Ms Kipkorir is now challenging the entire application and orders given in 2021 and petitioning the court to nullify the entire process based on the alleged fraud involved.
“The consequences of their actions should be nulliication of the fraudulent 2021 national elections,” she says in her suit papers.

Ms Kipkorir says in her petition filed before Eldoret High Court judge Maurine Onyango wants Kuppet leaders, whom she describes as imposters masquerading as national oficials to vacate office with immediate effect and the national trustees made to manage the union.

Justice Onyango however, declined to grant the request but instead directed her to serve the petition to Kuppet national officials and members of the National Executive Board (NEB).
Through Polo and Company Advocates, Ms Kipkorir says that the consent dated March 24, 2021 presented by the oicials and adopted by the court on March 30, 2021 was marred with illegality.
“That the impugned consent was entered into without instructions from the applicant and without the applicant’s knowledge,” she says in her application.
She says that Kuppet officials used the fraudulently acquired consent to convince the court to allow them to proceed with the national elections virtually.
